Job Description

Duties:

  • Field soil sampling techniques, field soil identification, description, and classification.
  • Use of various laboratory and field equipment for soil and plant tissue analyses
  • Preparation of soil and plant samples for tissue analysis
  • Data collection techniques and report compilation
  • Experimental Design and Layout
  • Day to day laboratory management

Inherent Criteria

Requirements:

  • A BSc Agriculture (Soil Science) coupled with at least two (02) years' relevant experience in laboratory work or a National Diploma (Soil Science) coupled with five (05) years' relevant experience in laboratory work.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of various field equipment for measuring soil properties, and laboratory equipment and instruments for soil and plant tissue analyses; evidence of compilation of practical manual in Soil Science; data analysis and report compilation.
  • Basic knowledge of common laboratory and field equipment used in soil analysis.
