Job Description
Job Summary:
- Initiate, find funding for, perform and publish research in environmental chemistry
- Teach undergraduate and post graduate students, amongst others Pollution and Environmental Quality, Pollution Modelling and Control and Ecotoxicology
- Supervise Honours, Masters and PhD students doing environmental chemistry projects
- Engage in community projects
- Assist the department in developing and improving its curricula
- Take part in departmental strategic planning workshops and perform administrative tasks is required by the HoD
Inherent Criteria
Job Requirements
Professor:
- Doctoral degree in Environmental Chemistry or related discipline.
- At least 10 years teaching experience in tertiary institution or 7 years professional experience in the relevant field
- At least 15 articles published in accredited journals, Chapters in a book and book publication
- Evidence of supervision of at least four Master or Doctoral students
- Mentoring and coaching of junior staff
Associate Professor:
- Doctoral degree in Environmental Chemistry or related discipline.
- At least 10 years teaching experience in tertiary institution or 7 years professional experience in the relevant field.
- At least 10 articles published in accredited journals, Chapters in a book and book publication
- Evidence of supervision of at least Four Masters/ Doctoral student
Senior Lecturer:
- Doctoral degree in Environmental Chemistry or related discipline.
- At least 5 years teaching experience at tertiary institution, or 7 years professional experience in the relevant field
- At least 5 publications in accredited, peer reviewed journals
