Background to Position

Lead and manage the Unit for Development at the university by executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to strengthen the fundraising endeavours by exploring local and international potential strategic partners, in order to enhance third-stream income in ensuring a sustainable university.

Job Description

1. Develop short-, medium- and long-term plans, relating to partnerships, development, networking and fund-raising projects, in line with the university’s vision
2. Manage, conduct and monitor fundraising and project marketing activities
3. Manage and track fundraising activities
4. Monitor and Evaluation of activities
5. Manage the performance and development of staff
6. Manage the budget for the Unit of Development
7. Develop reports

Inherent Criteria

• An Honours Degree in Marketing/Communication/Business Development or equivalent
• At least five (5) years of experience in development and fundraising nationally and/or internationally, including engagements with external partners
• Master’s Degree in Marketing/Communication//Business Development or equivalent
• At least ten (10) years of experience in development and fundraising nationally and/or internationally, including engagements with external partners
