Background to Position
FACULTY OF HUMANITIES:Office of the Dean, Welkom Campus
Main purpose of the job:
To conduct appropriate research leading to publications and projects for post graduate students and third-stream income.
Job Description
Main Tasks:
1. Lead and conduct research in the identified subject field
2. Develop and manage a research focus area in the faculty
3. Supervision of post-graduate students
4. Contribute towards a vibrant research environment in the faculty

Inherent Criteria
Minimum Qualification, Knowledge and/or Experience:
- A relevant Doctorate level degree (i.e. D Tech / PhD / NQF 10 or equivalent)
- At least eight years’ research / teaching / lecturing experience in the relevant subject field, including experience in the management of research projects
- An NRF-rating of C2 or a comparable H-index will be required
- Proven record of research outputs in line with CUT’s promotion requirements for Professor
- Proven record of external funding applications, awards and management.
- Lead/manage at least one research project
- Registration with relevant professional body, depending on the field of study Involvement as an editor/reviewer/external examiner
- Involvement as an editor/reviewer/external examiner
Desired Qualification, Knowledge and/or Experience:
- Minimum of three years’ experience in a similar position
