Job Description

Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead the Fort Hare Foundation fundraising initiatives
  • Support the development and implementation of fundraising strategies for the Foundation.
  • Contribute to the Foundation’s strategic and annual planning
  • Participate in planning, writing funding proposals to comply with donors/ funders guidelines and standards, paying particular attention to accountability requirements and ensuring that applications meet donor requirements and expectations
  • Liaise with faculties and service departments to get information that will assist in proposal development and accountability
  • Accountability to the funders/ or donors
  • Contribute in improving the effectiveness of the Foundations’ oversight, monitoring and coordination of fundraising and reporting.
  • Coordinate cross-programme funding and reporting arrangements, acting as the lead person setting plans and organizing meetings.
  • Coordination of profitable and sustainable investments on behalf of eth Fort Hare Foundation
  • Keep the organisation up-to-date on changing donor priorities and ensure that new funding opportunities are identified and shared with teams in a timely manner.
  • Event organisation and management
  • Ensure that the events are successful- they make a minimum profit of R500 000

Inherent Criteria

Minimum requirements:

  • Three (3) Year qualification in Marketing / Communication/ Business / Investment
  • Five (5) years experience, two (2) of which must be at management level.
  • Experience in stakeholder management
  • Proposal development experience
  • Investment experience will be an added advantage
