Inherent Criteria

Minimum Qualification/ Knowledge and/or Experience:

•   A relevant Doctorate level degree (i.e. D Tech / D Eng / PhD in Mechanical Engineering at NQF 10 or equivalent)

•   At least four years’ teaching / lecturing experience in the relevant subject field at senior undergraduate level (NQF level 7).

•   Evidence of research output, post-graduate supervision and presentations at national and international conferences

Desired Qualification, Knowledge and/or Experience:

•  Five years or more of industrial experience.

•  Research and/or industry experience in any of the fields of structural analysis, material science, mechanics of materials, advanced manufacturing or additive manufacturing.

•  Experience in curriculum development at honours level (NQF 8).

•  Teaching / lecturing experience in the relevant subject field at postgraduate level Honours/Advanced Diploma or equivalent (NQF level 8)

•  Professional registration with ECSA
