The University of Fort Hare is seeking applications from appropriately qualified and experienced candidates for the post Lecturer in the Department of Pure & Applied Mathematics, Faculty of Science and Agriculture.

ACADEMIC

Job Description

Duties:

  • Teach undergraduate courses in Mathematics and any other courses assigned to you by the Head of Department.
  • Participate in regular recurriculation of modules or programme reviews.
  • Develop research within the areas of Group Theory and Fuzzy Group Theory .
  • Attract research funding.
  • Supervise BSc Honours, MSc and PhD students.
  • Participate in community engagement.
  • Any other responsibilities assigned by the Head of Department.
  • The successful candidate will be required to register for a PGDHE

Inherent Criteria

Minimum Requirements:

  • A PhD degree in Pure Mathematics
  • Teaching experience at tertiary level.
  • Research experience supported by a publication record in DHET accredited journals.

Added Advantage:

  • Evidence of attracting research funding.
  • Supervision of post-graduate students.
  • NRF rating
