 MAIN PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE:

The main purpose of this position is to verify assets and provide field support to the asset register project. The project is aimed at fully automating the movable and immovable fixed asset registers.

The position will require the incumbent to do intercampus travel and all establishments with University assets.

Job Description

KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

 

Key job functions

 

1)    Provide field support on the asset register project

·          Perform 100% physical asset verification 

·         Tagging of assets with barcodes

·         Perform condition assessments on assets

·         Putting up of Inventory lists in all rooms 

2)    Provide accurate data processing with data from the field

 

3)    Reconcile data and input to the asset register

Inherent Criteria

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Minimum of Diploma or advanced certificate in Commerce/ business/ finance/ accounting/ or related field, emphasis on accounting.
  • Computer literacy skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel (basic to intermediary)
  • One-year experience in Finance, and assets verification experience will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to work in a team, under pressure and deadline driven and good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Driver’s license is prerequisite considering the expectation of travel between campuses
