Job Description

Responsibilities Include:

  • Adherence to all procedures and policies of the Student Accounts Office 
  • Perform monthly reconciliations.
  • Supervises Student Accounts Staff in the absence of the HOD.
  • Review the work of student account administrators.
  • Ensure collection of debtors is performed in accordance with the policy.
  • Undertakes on-going communication with students relating to all aspects of student income and to ensure the prompt and accurate dispatch of statements.
  • Ensure that all Fees charged are correct and that all students are charged accordingly. 
  • Implement principles of customer care in assisting and advising students
  • Capture ITS data affecting Student Accounts, to ensure accurate and prompt amendments.
  • Ensure that all journals are processed in line with sound accounting principles
  • Design and develop work flow processes and submit to the HOD: Students Accounts.
  • Perform any other duties as directed by supervisors.

Inherent Criteria

Minimum Requirements and Competencies:

Qualifiation:

  • Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting

Experience:

  • 3 Years’ experience in a student finance division at a Higher Education Institution
  • Knowledge of ERP System
  • Good interpersonal as well as sound communication skills
  • Added Advantage: Working knowledge of ITS (Student Debtors Sub System).
