Job Description
Duties:
- Teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate modules in alternative investments (including property investment) and other investment management modules;
- Supervision of postgraduate students at honours level;
- Participating in Departmental, Faculty and University activities;
- Self-initiated research towards the completion of a master’s degree or PhD.
Inherent Criteria
Requirements:
- An honours degree in investment management and the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) qualification; or a master’s degree in investment management and the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) qualification;
- Sufficient subject knowledge to be able to teach modules in alternative investments (including property investment) and at least two of the following areas: equity analysis, derivative instruments, fixed income securities, portfolio theory, portfolio management, behavioural finance, and / or investment ethics;
- The ability to teach in English at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
Short-listed candidates (those invited for interviews) will be expected to present a lecture on a designated topic to members of the Department of Business Management. If available, examples of the course material (including examination papers and tests) used in previous courses must be presented after the lecture.
Recommendations:
- A record of scholarly publications in accredited subject journals;
- Practical industry experience in an investment management environment;
- Lecturing experience in investment management modules at undergraduate level.
