Background to Position

LOCATION: Walter Sisulu University- Buffalo City Campus 

The Lecturer will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students. The incumbent reports to the HOD in respect of the key performance areas listed hereunder. 

Job Description

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

  • Lecture Electrical Protection and Power systems up to B-Tech/ Advanced Diploma level
  • Supervise students Design and Industrial projects
  • Curriculum development of Power Engineering subject up to B-Tech/ Advanced Diploma
  • Initiate research, community engagement and seminar activities;
  • Participating in research paper publications;
  • Preparing course outlines and study guides for students and lecturers;
  • Performing and carrying delegated administrative duties of the department; 

Inherent Criteria

  • A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current) OR
  • Honours or 4-year Bachelor’s degree or B-Tech degree plus registration with Engineering Council of South Africa [ECSA] in the Professional category.
  • Minimum of three (3) years teaching/lecturing or industry experience.
