Job Description
Duties:
- Lecturing in the field of Practical Theology, with specific focus on Youth, Development and Religion.
- Commitment to further research in area of speciality.
- Attending and presenting papers at national and international conferences.
- Administration pertaining to programmes, teaching and research.
- Involvement in activities of the discipline group and Faculty.
- Involvement in the Stellenbosch University (SU) community and social impact activities.
Inherent Criteria
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Practical Theology.
- Teaching experience at tertiary level.
- Research publications.
- Computer literacy, with the ability to use various Microsoft programs (Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Experience and the ability to use the E-learning platform.
- Good administrative and organisational skills.
- The ability to function in a multilingual environment.
Recommendations:
- A PhD in Practical Theology, with a specific focus on Youth, Community Development and Religion.
- Research experience is a strong recommendation – proof of independent research and research output through conference presentations and two peer-reviewed articles/chapters in a three-year cycle.
- Proven experience and involvement in service to the community should be considered.
- Membership of academic society within the discipline.
