Job Description
- Teach undergraduate and post graduate students
- To supervise postgraduate students specifically in urban and regional planning and any other relevant area in the school of environmental sciences
- To initiate research activities, provide leadership in research and innovation as well as work with colleagues to initiate/implement research projects
- To initiate community engagement programmes or participate in the existing ones
- To work with other colleagues in revising curriculum and or developing curriculum for new programmes as required
- To provide academic advisorship/mentoring to both under/postgraduate students
- Perform administrative tasks if required by the HoD
Inherent Criteria
Requirements for appointment at the level of Professor- Doctoral degree in Urban and Regional Planning or Urban Design or Architecture or Landscape Architecture
- At least 10 years teaching experience in tertiary institution or 7 years professional experience in the relevant field
- At least 15 articles published in accredited journals, Chapters in a book and book publication Evidence of supervision of at least four Master or Doctoral students
Requirements for appointment at the level of Associate Professor
- Doctoral degree in Urban and Regional Planning or Urban Design or Architecture or Landscape Architecture
- At least 10 years teaching experience in tertiary institution or 7 years professional experience in the relevant field
- At least 10 articles published in accredited journals, Chapters in a book and book publication
- Evidence of supervision of at least four Masters or Doctoral students
Requirements for appointment at the level of Senior Lecturer
- Doctoral degree in Urban and Regional Planning or Urban Design or Architecture or Landscape Architecture
- At least five years of teaching experience at tertiary institution or 7-years professional experience in the relevant field.
- At least 5 publication in accredited, peer reviewed journals.
