Job Description
- Teaching at the undergraduate level.
- Supervision of Honours and postgraduate students.
- Leadership and active participation in development and review of curricular for undergraduate and postgraduate programme.
- Conducting active research programme in collaboration with others within and outside the Department.
- Publishing research results in accredited, high-impact national and international journals.
- Effective involvement in community engagement activities of the department.
- Active participation in the administration of the Department.
- Ability to solicit external funds for research and bursary/scholarship for students.
- Aptitude for establishing linkages with the industry, Government Departments, Research Corporations, Non-
- Governmental Organisations both locally and internationally
Inherent Criteria
Requirements for appointment at the level:
Professor
- PhD in Mine Surveying
- At least 10 years teaching experience in tertiary institution or 7 years professional experience in Mining Surveying
- At least 15 articles published in accredited journals, chapters in a book and/or book publications.
- Evidence of supervision of at least four Masters or Doctoral students to completion.
Associate professor:
- PhD in Mine Surveying
- At least 10 years teaching experience in tertiary institution or 7 years professional experience in Mining Surveying.
- At least 10 articles published in accredited journals, chapters in book and/or book publications.
- Evidence of supervision of at least four Masters/Doctoral students to Completion Senior Lecturer:
- PhD in Mine surveying
- At least 5 years teaching experience at tertiary institution, or 7 years professional experience in Mining Surveying.
- At least 5 publications in accredited, peer reviewed journals.
