The Chief Director: Library and Information Service reports to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Research, Innovation and Internationalisation and serves as a member of the senior management group, participating in institutional leadership, management, and governance structures.

The Library and Information Service operates as a dynamic leader in the academic library environment, managing a Main Library and four branch libraries across Stellenbosch and Tygerberg campuses. The service strives to deliver client-centred services through skilled staff, world-class technological facilities, excellent collections, and optimal resource accessibility.
