The incumbent will be responsible for the following:

• Coordinating, administering, and teaching undergraduate and postgraduate modules in genetics, biotechnology and/or biometry
• Supervising postgraduate students at BScHons, MSc, and PhD levels
• Conducting research in one of the sub-disciplines of genetics (molecular genetics and genomics, population genetics and/or quantitative genetics) with application in human, animal, or plant genetics and biotechnology
• Publishing research in internationally recognised, peer-reviewed journals and presenting papers at national and international conferences
• Collaborating and developing partnerships with relevant industries to secure third-stream research funding
• Developing regional, national, and international academic and research networks
• Involved in administrative service delivery at the IPBB and at departmental, Faculty, University, national, and international levels
