The successful candidate will:

• Participate in the selection and administration of postgraduate students in the CBCB
• Teach modules in Bioinformatics at undergraduate and postgraduate level
• Continuously update undergraduate and postgraduate curricula to reflect advances in bioinformatics
• Become involved in the administration of undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes, ensuring their smooth operation
• Participate in the general operation of the CBCB as arranged with the Director
• Establish and build a research group, preferably focused on the development and application of machine learning and AI in advancing understanding in biology
• Supervise BSc Honours, MSc and PhD students
• Show potential to successfully compete for research funding at both local and international levels
• Establish a collaborative research network within the University as well as nationally and internationally
