Reporting to the Executive Head: Pathology, the incumbent will:

• Provide overall strategic leadership of the Division, giving expression to its vision of being a leader in promoting excellence in healthcare with reference to training, research and innovation in Haematological Pathology.
• Foster an inclusive and collegial environment that encourages a high level of performance, communication and teamwork.
• Manage operational, human resources and financial aspects of the Division, including cost centre management, facilities and resources management, and information management.
• Represent the Division within and external to the Faculty and the NHLS.
• Deliver services in support of Haematological Pathology within the NHLS.
• Contribute to the professional development of registrars through work-based assessments and participate in CMSA assessment processes.
• Monitor the quality of service delivery, teaching, training and research.
• Perform and supervise research in priority areas aligned with national and global imperatives.
• Contribute to the goals and functioning of the University and the NHLS.
• Expand and strengthen collaboration with health services, communities and other stakeholders.
